Fred Busch talks about exercise and health
Why is it important to Exercise?
WHAT IS HEALTH?
Health is a condition that extends to the entire body. Most health books take an extremely narrow approach to health, focusing on nutrition or exercise or mental wellbeing. Within these categories, many books will narrow their focus even further concentrating on the cardiovascular aspect of exercise or the value of lowering cholesterol, or losing weight. However the road to good health requires a comprehensive approach involving both good diet and exercise.
It is my belief that a good diet must include eating your food in its natural RAW state which is a diet in accordance with your design and nutritional needs. It is also my belief that practicing Yoga on a regular basis provides the physical exercise and spiritual harmony that will help maintain your body in proper balance. Combined, these constitute a holistic approach to health, an approach I call the System.
Health is achieved through the proper functioning (energetic flow) of all the inter-related systems and aspects of the body and produces a general feeling of well being and joy. The proper and healthy functioning of the internal organs and the glands is much more important than the size of the pectoralis major muscle. But this is not widely recognized. In our society, it is common for a disproportionate amount of energy, money and time to be spent towards bigger muscles without the realization that fitness is not the same as health. Most people should understand that the only reason to be fit is to be healthy.
After practicing this simple system, you will be enlightened as you discover how well your body and mind can work. Your brain is very powerful and when given the right materials functions very efficiently. Through practice your muscles and your health will grow very strong.
The key to health is in daily exercise and thus daily strong bloodflow.
People who suffer from ongoing or recurrent bouts of back pain often have to try a number of different forms of exercise to find the most appropriate therapy to manage their pain. For many, yoga has proven to be a safe and effective way to finally alleviate many forms of back pain or neck pain and help prevent ongoing problems.
Yoga is approximately 4,000 years old and is a scientific methodology aimed at uniting the mind, body, and spirit. This bonding that occurs through yoga is said to bring about not only physical benefits, but mental benefits as well, taking the individual to a level that could not be reached by manipulating one factor alone. This unique characteristic has prompted many back pain patients to incorporate yoga as part of their treatment program.
