THE EXPERIENCE THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

In his twenties, while traveling in East Africa, Fred experienced a serious health crisis that would permanently alter the direction of his life.

Hospitalized in Tanzania and forced to confront his own vulnerability, he began questioning many of the assumptions he held about health, nutrition, recovery, and human performance.

What started as a personal search for answers became a lifelong pursuit.

Over the following decades, he immersed himself in the study and practice of movement, nutrition, recovery, behavior change, yoga, anatomy, and lifestyle-based approaches to health and well-being.

That journey eventually became the foundation for his professional work and the development of The Medellín Wellness Protocol.

Education, Teaching, and Professional Development

Fred studied Environmental Policy at the University of Michigan, where he developed a deep appreciation for the relationship between environment, human behavior, and long-term health.

Over the course of his career, he has taught in the United States, Canada, Colombia, Peru, Germany, Uruguay, Argentina, the United Kingdom, and other countries.

His students have included individuals seeking personal health improvement, yoga teachers, wellness professionals, healthcare practitioners, medical doctors, business owners, entrepreneurs, and people simply looking for a healthier way to live.

Throughout his career, he has developed and directed professional certification programs, educational retreats, continuing education courses, and residential wellness experiences designed to help participants translate knowledge into meaningful action.

Author, Educator, and

Program Director

Fred is the author of three published books on health and wellness and has spent decades teaching the practical application of nutrition, movement, recovery, and lifestyle change.

In 2003, he opened Food Without Fire in Miami, one of the early plant-based educational and dining concepts of its kind in South Florida.

He later founded the School of Plant Nutrition and developed the Health Educator Certification, programs created to help individuals better understand the relationship between food, lifestyle, and long-term health.

Over the years, he has worked with thousands of students and participants from diverse backgrounds, helping them develop practical tools for improving energy, mobility, resilience, and overall quality of life.
